I just installed new struts on my 2008 mustang convertible and have been looking to replace the front lower control arms as im sure the ball joints are worn. I have seen them prices anywhere from $50 each to $350 a pair. Is there a major difference on these things as far a quality? Does anyone have a particular one which perform well and or that they are happy with? Its a nice car but just used in the summer on nice days for cruising.

Unless there is a clear indication that the ball joints are worn/failed, why are you wanting to change them? Since the Fox days, Ford says ball joints are not serviceable and one must replace the whole a-arm component. With that said, if the BJ hasn't been previously replaced, you might be able to R&R with a new BJ. BJs are an interference fit which means that the mount expands each time a BJ is R&R'd. Eventually (usually after one replacement) the mount hole is too stretched to provide enough interference to hold-in the next BJ. Some guys have tacked them in place but the heat can ruin BJs if not careful. Moreover, replacments are not the sealed, low friction version Ford has been using. Replacements generally require lubrication like the old days. And the old design creates more NVH.
