Hey guys this is my first post on the forum. I was looking to get any and all info on a lease. I have always wanted a mustang since I can remember I'm 23 so this would be my first mustang and first new car, any help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if any currently has one leased I would love to know the money factor and residual percentage you got

Welcome to the forums! Do not take this personally in any way, but here is my personal opinion.. I personally think leasing is a waste of money (don't take this the wrong way anyone that is already leasing). You're still paying how much a month for a car, but in the end you dont even get to keep it?!!?

If i had to suggest something, I would say FINANCE the car. When you are finished with it, or don't want it then you can still sell it and get money back towards a new car.

If you finance an ecoboost and put like 5-8,000 down you are looking at under 400$ a month.

No matter what you decide, good luck and I am sure you will love your mustang!

I agree and disagree with your post. I lease my Ford Explorer through work because it makes business sense for me to do so. I turn my vehicle in every 3 years for a new one, use it for over 80% work related travel (higher tax deductions every year via leasing in my experience), and never plan to own it. My mustang, however, is a car I want to own and is my personal vehicle. I don't want to be limited by mileage allowance nor do I want to deal with a balloon payment at the end (depends on your lease) to purchase.

My advice is if you are planning on keeping the car past 3 years then purchase, if you want to continually turn over a car every 3 years then lease. Ford handles leases pretty well in my opinion.

Depends. I'd say that about 90% of the people I know who have cars have them on leases -- because it's all BMW's and Mercedes, and nobody wants to own those when the warranties expire. Also, because it's a lot easier to claim a lease as a business expense than a car payment.

leaing is great , but only one certain vehicles. Mustang isnt one of them.

You have to see what kind of deal they have on a lease and compare that to the purchase.
As en example, when Lincoln had the Mark LT trucks, sticker $49800, I leased one with TOTAL $430 down for $249 a month for 2 years. I got to drive a $50k truck for 2 years for less than $6500 total without having to worry about the depriciation.
I also had a 12 MKZ that I leased for $280 a month for 2 years with $480 down. Sticker on that was $43000.

A Mustang on the other hand, is not something I would lease. Specially the GT where you would pay the same monthly payment as buying it, so you might as well but one.

A Lincoln lease for under 300 a month with barely any lonely down sounds great, how did you manage to pull that off?

Thanks for the input, right now the buy it payments would be a little to much for me to handle comfortably which is why I was looking to lease, however it's winter here in Philly, with snow last night, I may just save up and see what happens come spring, it's just very hard to wait

on the Mark LT they had 9000 in rebates on top of my D-plan discount. plus a really high residual.

MKZ had $2500 in rebates plus another $1000 renewal and $2000 owner loyalty. $5500 on a 2 year lease is huge ( around $220 saving per month in payment)
