Would like some advice / help here:

For my LE WW Auto #381 - I asked my dealer for a breakdown of the numbers so that I could have my $$ in hand. Here is what he gave me:

Price: 48,190
Tax: 3160
Fees: (title, registradion, doc, license, inspection, window etching, paint protection, road and bridge, deputy) 1147
Downpayment: 2000
Final: 50,498

My question is - what is the window etching and paint protection? - ...and should I reject those?

Window etching is they etch the vin number into the glass. It lowers insurance cost in some areas. I'm not inclined to etch the special 1/4 glasses on these cars.

Paint protection is your dealerships special wax job. Usually it's a very large fee for a very minor was application.

Trackey or computer retune does not get a whole new engine code. Think of it as a hardware part number. The computer revision code would be three letters and a number. Has been since 1996 anyway.
