I don't like cleaning either lol. I've owned dark cars always and bought my current white car because it was a steal (wanted a dark grey 11). The white is a lot easier. Plus, I'm not a huge fan of blue. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful color, just not for me.

I will say this. Make sure, especially white shipped by rail, that you clay bar the car quickly to get the rail dust out. Or it'll imbed and leave little rust colored spots that are almost impossible to get out.

I just want to say that it bothers me that my car is still just showing produced in cotus and not awaiting shipment or even in transit. It's been 8 days now waiting to be shipped. I've been preaching patience for months but I'm ready to pull (what's left of ) my hair out.

Lol, when I told my dealer I don't want my car detailed, he looked at me like I was an alien. I told him he can detail the inside, but leave the outside alone, I'm going to pressure wash and clay bar the whole car the first day, followed by a couple layers of sealer. Well, it may take me more than a day, but you get the point.

Might wanna hold off on the sealer for a few months. Paint has to cure properly and solvents won't work their way out with sealer or wax.

Unless you do a real polish job, which opens up the pores in the paint and allows it to happen much faster. I've heard wait a week after polish but not sure.

That is incorrect Mr. SVTFreak. For modern manufacturing plants, the cars are sent through several ovens to bake the paint and expedite the curing process. The cars are cured before they even leave the paint shop. That rule applies to paint repairs and other 3rd party paint jobs that do not completely cure paint. So feel free to quickly add protection to your paint!

What does Clay Bar do? - where do you get it? - what are some brands etc.? Is it like a wax...that you just put on and wipe off? Never heard of Clay Bar-ing.

It removes all the fine and "invisible" impurities from your paint. Helps get it about as truly clean as you can before polishing, waxing, or sealing.

You should be able to get it any auto parts store... I know I saw one yesterday at AdvanceAuto so I know they at least have it lol.

Start here, http://www.detailedimage.com/Auto-Detailing-Guide/Clay-Bar/ or google clay bar detailing. Autogeek and others have good how to videos. The most important thing I cannot over stress is buy good fine detailing clay (doesn't have to be the most expensive) and if you drop it, never ever think you can clean it...toss it no matter what you paid.
