All booked in for a trip to Le Mans to watch the Ford GT's win on the 50th anniversary of their 1-2-3 finish and brother has had a appendix issue and dad needs to ferry him back from hospital.....

Sorry to hear of your woes, hope your brother gets fixed. Would have loved to make this years event, what with Ford back in the mix, just too packed a life at the mo, in a good way.

What about a club event next year?

Any takers on organising? Could block book a club pitch at Speedchills or the like ;)

Thats such a shame Benno. Was only saying to my boys yesterday that I want to take them to Le Mans. I saw Jaguar win in the early 90s and it was one of the best weekends of my life.

But with the NC500 next month, I cannt do Le Mans. I would be well up for next year.

It's easy mate, get in touch with Speedchills or the like, negotiate a club pitch on their site, they'll even rope it off for you, collect all monies, pay Speedchills, see you there on the Wednesday before race day

All you need is a tent, a sleeping bag and wash kit (if you're posh )

Everyone meet at Ashford (travel lodge), ferry across and a nice 3-4 hour drive and Bob's your Auntie :clap2:

At least that's my experience from 2005. In a friend's chipped RS4 (one of the original) with a dodgy clutch.

I'm tentatively working on plans to drive mine over to the Red Bull Ring in Austria for the 2017 GP, picking up a friend in Amsterdam. Ferry from Newcastle to Amsterdam, and then burn down the Autobahn from there. Frenchie motorways too fraught for WOT action.
