Hi there
So today I went to finally see the car I have purchased in the flesh. In short I am very happy with my purchase and very surprised at the quality of the overall package.
TC Harrison Ford in Derby have the first RHD UK Mustang, so far it is the only one in the UK and a showroom only car, no test drives, but they are willing to start it but the manager has the keys and he was not present when I visited today.
Good points:
- Interior quality is superb, mostly leather on the doors, dash, centre console, feels very premium, better than my E46 M3 and the leather used seems nicer and softer than that in my 911 but I'd say the interior is also not quite 911 finish and fit, but certainly up there with E46 M3 and I do mean one with an interior. ;)
- Seats are absolutely superb, they hug you really well but the they are so comfortable, really soft, some of the nicest seats I have ever sat in and the driving position is superb.
- Exterior panels and panel gaps all seemed spot on, could not spot anything.
- Its just a very nice all round car, way beyond any other Ford I ever sat in quality wise.
- Gear change, feels absolutely superb, the throw is great, I cannot believe this but it feels better than that of my 911, Ford seem to have done a great job here.
- Boot seems more than large enough, plenty of room for a couple of golf bags.
- Engine bay, 5.0l enough said!
- The silver/metal effect trim on the dash looks really nice in person and no idea if it is fake or real, feels fine to the touch and the leather on dash is a nice touch.
- Rear lights look better in the flesh.
Bad points:
- Steering wheel is nice but a little too thin, but I have a GT350 wheel on the way which is thicker and part suede/leather, so a none issue for me.
- There are some cheap plastics in use, the ones around the electric mirrors are nasty.
- Ride height is not so bad, but a little lower, say 20-30mm and it would be spot on.
- Rear lights still stand out too much, red would look better, I have medium tints on the way for mine to make them blend a bit better and not look so 1990 Lexus effect. ;)
- I don't like the rear decklid GT fake filler cap, got a new rear decklid on the way with running pony badge on it.
Now the excitement is setting in, I've even ordered an exhaust along with some other upgrades.
I tried to take as many images as possible which will hopefully answer peoples questions about UK cars, let the photos do the talking..........
