Chances are it cost very little taxpayer money. It was likely a confiscated vehicle from someone who couldn’t keep their foot off the gas and got busted.. or had drugs, weapons, etc that caused them to lose the car.

Back in my hometown the local PD used to have a few “nice” undercovers or patrol vehicles that were a result of just that. One was a Lincoln Navigator on big wheels advertising the fact the vehicle was seized from a drug bust.

I agree - not one you’d want to tango with on the highway.. probably not a stock car either. They probably fight over who gets to go on patrol in that one for two reasons: 1, the car, 2, you know you aren’t hauling anyone to jail in that lol.
