Great choice going with X-Plan. In many states, other posters are right, better deals can be had by hard negotiating. But in Florida, the state with the most batshit insane "doc fees" in the entire country (typically upwards of $700), X-Plan's capping of those fees to no more than $100 is a huge deal maker.

I still think it's a little out of your price range. However, sounds like your mind is made up. Since that's the case... enjoy the hell out of your new wheels! The v6 is one tough car. I've had mine for 2.5 months and drive it on a daily basis and absolutely love it. I have had zero issues or complaints with this vehicle.

I don't recall the exact price off hand, but I paid less than $24,000 everything said and done (tax/title/license/etc.). That included x-plan and a few rebates, for the 51a w/spare wheel and all weather floor mats. I shopped around to 5 different dealers, even though I had x-plan which means I'd have gotten same price anywhere. I really wanted a good customer service experience and a place I would trust to bring the car back for repairs. Enjoy...and take lots of pictures!

As I was looking at all the V6 Mustangs, I noticed there was a price different (about $1,000+ more) for the models with the "sportier" looking rims compared to the base rims.

The "Sportier" wheels are part of the 051A package which adds the 18 in Foundry wheels, power drivers seat, and optional spoiler or delete. You can also get optional 3.55 gears. That's what I'm getting soon and most others who get the V6 get this package as it really does make a difference in the cars looks and convenience. :ford:

That's really a decision up to you. It would cost a lot more to change your rims later to 18" ones. And you get Fog Lights, and power seats. If you don't care, don't get it. You're a young guy and at your age I think this car, even without that extra $1k package, is plenty enough for you. I sat in a base V6 2015 mustang and was quite impressed. I had a nice car at your age too around that same price, and even though I had a payment, I worked hard and paid it off early. I had so much fun at that time, and I didn't regret it at all.

The 051A package, 3.55 axle ratio, and spare tire are definitely worth the money, in my opinion. I wouldn't buy a V6 Mustang without them. As far as price goes, you should be able to get around $2,000 off sticker with little effort.

Thanks man- I forgot to say fog lights lol. You don't have to get 3.55 gears as your MPG will suffer a bit, but this package is pretty sweet if you can afford it. You should be able to get Xplan and a bit more off the sticker especially now when the car is not really "in season" so just go from dealer to dealer until you get the best price . I got a great deal on mine so it's very possible :ford:

Rebates brought it to $22,945

There are rebates available, but it'll be more difficult to apply them if you haven't done some leg work ahead of time. With that said, your dealer can still apply them towards your purchase if you inquire. The rebates don't hurt their bottom line, so ask about them. The ones that applied to my purchase are probably called something different today. Check out this thread for more current info than what I have...
