Yesterday when I pulled the back seat down that the part protected/covered was a lot blacker than the parts of the seats in direct sun light. Didn't want to get tint because I live in California (stupid laws) and I think the car looks funny with just the back 3 windows tinted but might just do it. So has anyone else noticed fading of factory cloth seats?

First I've heard of this. Have you considered doing a a clear tint, like the 3M cystalline or similar? That would cut out the UV rays and a some heat without darkening the windows.

My cloth Recaros have faded a bit. My back seats were very faded at the top. Back shelf carpet is faded as well. But the car sits outside all day with no tint though I have my front windshield screen. Though the cloth holds up pretty good compared to say my seatbelt pads which are black and orange. Those fade out in a few months and look grey haha

Just tint them. I've been doing it for awhile now: I've gotten pulled over 4 times for it in 8 years. I just get the ticket signed off and move along.
