You cant shop insurance this way. Key drivers are credit score, yes this is true, MVR, zip code, and age. Call a local independent insurance agent who can shop numerous companies for you.

Ok. Someone explain this. I’m 56 and just bought a $50k GT Premium. Insurance is approx $460 for 6 months. My wife’s 21 Bronco Wildtrack ($58k) is approx $150 for 6 months.

I'll be 56 this year and have been using USAA for years.
Cannot speak to the Bronco, but the price you are referencing for the Mustang premiums, that's almost exactly what I will be paying for a full-coverage policy, $1,000 deductible and 100k/200k payouts.

Yeah, way too many variables with age / experience / location / coverage levels / company selected.
As an example, Geico is currently quoting me $468/year for:
A local Massachusetts company is quoting the identical coverage for $736/year.

Bodily Injury Liability @ $250,000/$500,000
Property Damage Liability @ $100,000
Personal Injury @ $8,000
Medical Payments @ $25,000
Uninsured Motorist @ $100,000/$300,000, and
Underinsured Motorist @ $100,000/$300,000.
