As part of the Hurst conversion, we are getting Hurst Elite cat-back exhaust, which is made by Flowmaster. I have not traditionally liked Flowmaster exhaust, it's too loud and raspy for me. Anyone have any experience with the Hurst-branded system?

I thought the same--the kit seems to be almost completely ignored, but I was attracted by the simplicity of the install, with only three pieces main pieces. You do need to remove all four exhaust hangers for it, keep in mind (that is, if you were installing it yourself.)

It's loud, but not so raspy, save for the fairly unique-sounding growl it has which you can hear genuinely in the videos provided by both AmericanMuscle and Flowmaster themselves. It sounds nothing like the regular Flowmaster-brand systems for the car, as far as I can hear.

My only complaint is that it can be boomy-sounding between 1000-1500 RPM in the cabin. Higher than that, the effect dies down.

But compared to the American Thunder system, it has a far cleaner sound.
