Been to Ford today and collected my car. The tail lights had been adjusted along with the boot catch which made a HUGE difference. The boot lid still sits proud of the quarter on RHS by a mm or so but nowhere near as bad. I've spotted a couple other very minor issues but on the whole relieved and happy that mine isn't as bad as some.....

I also met with the Branch Manager who to be fair was very helpful and offered to do whatever it takes to make me happy. He did however show me around another 6 Mustangs including the one in the showroom. EVERY SINGLE ONE of those Mustangs had some kind of panel aligment issue, some truly laughable. I'd be amazed if there's any Mustangs in the country that are perfect (or on par with a car built in Europe/Japan).

I had the full sales pitch from the Branch Manager trying to justify it all with how Ford manage to make an awesome car for such little money, I guess that's all he could do. He was pointing out issues on other Mustangs much worse than mine as if this some how made it all ok. These were customers cars awaiting collection BTW.

I told him 2 wrongs don't make a right! In this case 6 wrongs.

:ford::frusty::frusty::crazy::crazy:

Ouch, nobody should try and make you feel better by putting others down (Even if it's cars) that's a bad tactic in general!

Instead he should be saying 'yes they come with panel alignment issues, but we rectify them before giving them to the customer to ensure good customer relations...
No wait, that only happens in movies? :p

Like come on, the bloke can obviously see an issue, and he's pointed them out, what's he doing to rectify it?!

My boot is acceptable, not quite perfect, but not enough to go digging in.

Again, bonnet is just about good enough. Its got a constant alignment all the way round, with a slight pinch right of centre at the front.

Ive probably escaped lightly.

I will say however that the Magnetic paint is bloody lovely. Perhaps my dealer just did a good job, but ive yet to find a flaw, its lovely and deep, and no mopping/swirl marks at all.

I'm not sending mine back until the TSB for the underseal comes... at that point i'll get them to fix my 2cm right side lift on the boot...

Im having my exhaust fitted next week and the car will be on the ramps.

Will inspect my underseal then.

If the TSB goes through, ill have to push for it to be made Europe wide, I reckon

Maybe, not sure if it's done on all Europe cars... haven't checked other forums for that... if so, I'm sure ford's going to be having a nice legal spat with their contractors who did it badly just to recoup costs

Yeah he was difficult to pin down on rectifying everything. I had full intentions of insisting on everything being perfect. But his tactic worked by showing me other cars as it made me realise how "lucky" I was with mine.

He had a valid point when he asked how can we move welded panels? I mean how can they without undertaking days and days of work with no guarantee it'll improve. They dont have a bodyshop which doesn't help.

I'll have my mechanic mate have a look round and see what can and can't be adjusted. Despite my initial grumbling I at least feel a bit better today as it looks stacks better already.
