Gonna separate my engine cover and get it painted and do cf center. How does one go up removing that emblem, it it taped or clipped on the back it looks like metal tabs but i'm having no luck and would not like to destroy the cover or emblem while trying.

Anyone have any experience doing this.

Thanks in advance

It is glued on, take your time with it or it will bend and crease. It is really thin.

yea i can tell that is stamped metal and am worried about bending, would a heat gun assist with that at all?

Thanks

Just wanted to update this incase someone has the same question. It is adhered but what seems like a 3m style foam tape.

I used a heat gun and abs panel removal tools to separate it. Heat it up slowly and evenly and find something to pry it up just barely to life it use a nylon or abs tool, screwdriver would bend the metal to easily. I would lift then reheat, i heated the metal to the point it was too hot to touch, best way to soften the adhesive, then would slowly pry and slide the tool underneath to slice/break the tape. Did this over a 10 min period i would guess, WORK SLOWLY if you don't want to damaged the metal.

Used rubbing alcohol to remove the residue i let it soak for a bit, could use goo gone but it leaves surfaces oily.
