How to cover emblem

Hey everyone, not sure if this would really count as a viable topic, but has anyone ever done an overlay on an emblem before? I'm thinking of taking the Mustang Logo's and overlaying them with green chrome (I think it would look killer with the Guard Green), but I've never really done anything like that before. I ordered automotive-grade vinyl (VViViD Supercast Emerald Green Conform Chrome Metallic) that shouldn't be too difficult to put on correctly if I read the description right.

Also I'm putting this on my fender, also with the same vinyl overlay:

Any thoughts, suggestions?
