I just took delivery on a 2016 GT. I knew Ford dropped the SD card slot for 2016 but a few months ago I saw a post here about retrofitting it. I thought I had bookmarked it but now can't find it. The forum search rejects "SD" as being too short to search for.

Does anyone know what thread that was or know where to find the part which I suspect was from a 2015 and how to install it in a 2016?

I'm assuming SYNC 3 will treat it as a USB for the purpose of accessing music.

If you have a lot of SD cards you want to use, just get a USB-to-SD adapter, stick it in the armrest.

Honestly though, unless you've really got a ton, or you're using them across different devices (i.e., it's more convenient), you'd be better off just scoring a USB flash drive or two, for about $10 you can get a 32GB from a decent manufacturer.

Thanks. I know that. I have several of these that I use where I can't use SD but I prefer SD.

I was asking for how to add SD to the car. There was a thread (or posts in a thread) about that using a part out of another car (probably a 2015 Mustang).

Search "Sd card"

There's a thread about retrofitting nav to base mustangs. May have been where you read it. I couldn't turn up anything else.

Thanks. I'll look at NAV DIY threads. That sounds vaguely familiar. But searching for "SD" alone doesn't fly (too short). Searching for "SD Card" turns up threads with EITHER word in it. So basically you get an almost infinite list of threads with the word "card" in them.

But if there is a trick to make the search an AND instead of OR, I don't know it.
