I have a 2015 Mustang GT premium coupe on order and I expect to receive the car about February. The order includes Ford's 18 X 8 "foundry" (5-spoke) wheels and 235/50ZR18 all-season tires.

I will use the OEM wheels and tires for mild winter driving here in southeast Kentucky (I also have access to a Jeep for the few really nasty days). For the remainder of the year, I will change over to Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer performance tires on light alloy aftermarket wheels in a staggered configuration.

According to forum member Brian@Vossen's installation thread on this site for the staggered setup of Vossen VFS-1 wheels (20 X 9.5 front and 20 X 10.5 rear), Brian's choice of 275/35ZR20 tires mounted on the 20 X 9.5 wheels in the front (+25 offset) looks pretty much perfect to me.

In the rear, however, Brian's choice of 315/35ZR20 tires is too wide for my taste. My own preference is the 295/35ZR20 size and it appears to me that with the +45 offset shown in Brian's photographs, the 295-width on the 20 X 10.5 rear wheels should be just about right. My only serious concern is that the tires are 28.1" in diameter which is quite a bit taller than any of the OEM tire options offered on the Mustang including the Pirelli P Zeros with the performance package that are 27.5" tall. I would appreciate the thoughts of the board regarding the 295-wide rear fitment with 20 X 10.5 wheels.

I have no plans to lower the car.

You can go pretty tall on Mustangs.
