Assembly starts at 8:50 p.m. with a freshly painted, empty metal shell hanging in an overhead cradle on the tilt line at a 45-degree angle. Twenty minutes later, the car moves onto stands on line two, a conveyer belt, and is ready for assembly.
By 10:00, the instrument panel is ready to be put together on the preinstallation line.
The engine is completed on the engine-production line between 10:20 and 11:00.
At 11.45, the instrument-panel assembly is united with the body…
… and at 12:20, the engine is placed into the engine bay.
Wheels are added to the car at 1:50 in the morning…
… and at 2:00 robots install the front and rear glass.
The interior nears completion as the seats are installed by 2:10.
Doors, initially removed for interior work, are reattached at 2:35.
The car nears the end of the final trim assembly line by 3:00, where the remaining trim items are installed.
Final inspection of the completed Mustang takes only five minutes between 3:10 and 3:15.
The fully assembled vehicle comes to the end of the line at 3:20, when the wipers, lights, and horn are checked. The brand-new Mustang is then fired up for the first time and driven away to a holding lot.
What i was really curious about was the TOTAL time, including assembly of body and paint,
If we add another 2 days for body and paint that puts it at about 3 days I guess.
