I purchased a matte black pony grille emblem from RPI Designs. I understand that the pony is held in-place with one-way fasteners from behind the grille. The questions are how to get to that area or how to remove the grille completely?

You don't need to. Just remove the radiator shroud, then reach out to the back to the grille and snap the plastic pins. the old emblem will come right out after you snap all 4 pins.

By 'snap', do you mean break them off? What did you use to do this?

I removed the radiator cover and reached through the hole where the hood latch is. But, there is barely any room to maneuver in there!

Yep, they basically break off when you push them sideways with a fingertip. No way to really save them, the small tabs are much more fragile than the metal clips.

Anyone know if the emblem from AM will fit 2015?
