Gas will not trigger a cel, the car will perform better with the higher octane. Take it by an advance/auto zone and have them read it or wait until tomorrow and call your local dealer.

Does the Mustang ECU reprogram itself if you run higher octane? If not it will actually run worse but I wouldn't think bad enough to throw a code.

Higher octane fuel is only better to run if your engine is tuned (advanced timing) to run it.

The ecoboost does. 87 vs. 93, a noticeable different in HP/TQ. Reported by Ford as well.

Code p0300 is what the guys at pepboys said...P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.

You probably ended up with a bad batch of gas. Does the station you got 92 from seem to sell a lot of it? ie do you see sports cars there all the time? If not, there's probably water in the gas or its just old.
Have pep boys clear it, fill up with some reputable gas (a nice new BP or Shell station) and see if it comes back.

Oh yea! that's the ticket right there.

Stationed at NAS Oceana, and I've had bad 93 gas from both the stations here. Too much water the one time, and something else (who knows) was mixed in the other time. Luckily neither killed the engine, just ran crappy.

There is an ongoing discussion about this. P0300 for low mile EBs. Mine came on at 200 miles. Ford has no fix right now but they say they are working on it. I took mine in and got my spark plugs replaced. It came back. I then ran fuel cleaner through the gas tank (chevron techron) and have been using nothing but Chevron 91 gas since. Has not come back. At 1300 miles now.

Some people still have the issue though so I dont know

Nice. Well done Ford. The ECU on my 2012 Camaro SS/RS would detune if you put regular in it but was too dumb to tune back when you put premium in it. You had to pull a fuse to reset the ECU.

The eco ecu checks by advancing timing til it sees a tiny little bit of knock, and then scales back a bit. Then does it again a little later, wash, rinse, repeat...

May want to pull the plugs and check the gaps. Read the gap could be all over the place from factory and should be .026—.028 range
