First of all it sounds great. I am new to modding I have these following questions to you.
is the one you installed for GT? Because I havent been able to find one for v6.
So, how did you install it?
I mean how did you solve the 2.5" to 2.25" issue?
If I buy this from cjpony, what connector should I buy with?

Thanks
It is for the GT. They bolt on because the header outlets are 2.5 for both the v6 and v8.
You just use a 2.5 to 2.25 step down welded, or just weld them as is but make sure the welds are super clean and proper.

Think that's where I'll start with my exhaust and if I need to do more I'll find a GT take off stock exhaust.

Here's another short video from the outside of normal driving.

I'm holding out on posting a WOT drive by video just because I haven't found a spot yet.

So chaos, you are saying that both the v6 and v8 have a 2.5 inch exit. Is that before or after the cat? I am curious were the v6 then converts to 2.25. On the GT exhaust for the v6 thread soldier thought the conversion was after the resonator. Was you resonator 2.5 in and 2.25 out?

Well, where we cut and welded was 2.25.
The resonator is straight through and I'm assuming this at 2.5 up until the exit which is 2.25.

So yes? Lol I don't know where the conversion in the stock exhaust system happens but I'm sure it's right at the resonator outlet.

Here are pictures looking from the inlet of the stock resonator that I happen to have on my phone right now.
You can actually see the 2.25 pipe edge at the end where it creates a sort of lip as they meet.
I never noticed it until now.

I believe the v6 is 2.25 out of resonator and the 5.0 is 2.50 and that's why you need the 2 adapters 2.50 to 2.25,the front of the resonator is 2.50 on both 3.7 & 5.0.

I did a quick measure of the diameter of the resonator inlet and exit from my spare gt exhaust. Both inlet and outlet diameters are the same. So you can conclude that the 2.5in is after the resonator.

A better question would be are the resonators for the V6 and GT exactly the same? By the look of those pictures the 2.25 piping is just welded to the 2.5 resonator outlet. It's not even centered

Quick update.
Installed the GT mufflers to see what it was like.
Did not like it at all.
It sounded just as quiet as stock, I was expecting a little more.
Even at high rpms the sound was icky.
I also felt a loss in power.

I didn't get a video because the difference really is negligible and
un-hearable in a recording.
I absolutely wouldn't recommend it with this pipe.

Needless to say I went back to stock.
I'll probably buy an aftermarket muffler to quiet it a bit instead of drowning it.

So I grabbed the cheap CJPonyParts h-pipe had it installed and I loved it until the sound it made when I was decelerating. During engine breaking the pipe sounds like there's water in it or something rattling around. It sounds like a diesel truck except very very loud and absolutely doesn't match the tone the roush axle back makes during acceleration. I am completely bummed out now, the car sounds great until I let off the pedal and it sounds like 10 diesel engines idling inside of a closed garage. Is this problem I'm having because it's a GT pipe, poor quality of the product, is it the headers just not working well with it, is that the nature of the beast when you delete the resonator? It's welded on so it's not leaking but I've just never heard anything like this, it almost sounds like metal on metal. I regained the low end torque I lost and it runs better than ever just this whole deceleration noise sounds so bad down side streets and alleys I don't even wanna drive it. I'm really bummed out so if any intelligent people out there can help my idiot self out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks

Thank our v6 engines whom naturally love to rasp.
I know what funky little noise you're talking about.
Mine burbles and backfires but there's the small hint of it.

I assumed adding some sort of muffler would sort it out but maybe it amplifies that sound.

Ya idk I'm on the fence right now about whether to try a higher quality h-pipe, try an xpipe, or just have a shop weld my resonator back on. I don't mind the backfires it's this weird sound that almost sounds like when the girlfriend wears down the brake pad and and starts grinding the rotor but amplified. I wish I could get it on video but my stupid phone doesn't pick it up properly and actually sounds good when recorded lol. Grrrrr :frusty:

Got H pipe installed and drove around, what I noticed was not much,I still have stock mufflers on and there is zero drone, low end might be a tad quicker maybe, kicked it down to 80ish and no real sound difference from inside the car maybe outside but all in all I'm glad I did it,later I will do axle backs probably Gibsons but I want to get ride of the lag when you kick it down hard so now I think I'll try pedlemax or commander not sure witch one.
