so headed to the track for the first time with the eco. i was thinking of removing the exhaust after the dp for the weight savings and any possible gains. is it worth it? has anyone seen any improvement in ET or MPH? also was going to do the usual weight savings: backseat, trunk mat, and the inflation kit. any other tips for the eco from guys that have been out? suggested tire pressure or launch rpm. it's a non PP eco with the auto and the 19's.

thanks

I thought at first you were talking about one with turns.

Mods?
If you have removed the active grille shutters, take off the panel that covered them and put bags of ice on the intercooler between runs. Lower the rear tire pressures a bit, not sure what tires you have...

Sorry, drag strip. 1/4 mile. Auto cross is Sunday lol. Still 100% stock. It has the 19in p-zero Nero, 255/45/19's. I usually drop to 19-20psi but these seem stickier than some of the other tires I've had.

Wow, I usually go down to 25-26 psi on street tires. That's pretty low.

I wouldn't drop that low.

I've always gone to 19 psi or so on hot days with nittos or dot-r's

Yeah I've always ran between 19-22, but I'll start at 25 and go from there. I removed the exhaust from the down pipe back. Surprisingly quite unless your totally mashed on the gas and only stupid loud after 4500rpm on full accel. Anyone toy with launch rpm or using the paddles or just leaving it in S ?

Disconnect/remove front sway bar end links. Might not be very beneficial on 19" radials though.

Don't lower your tire pressure to 19. I'll destroy your top end stability. Since it's an auto just turn off all the nannies and foot brake it to the point that the tires are almost ready to spin and feed in throttle on the 3rd yellow. Don't just slam the throttle peddle to the floor. Removing parts seams like overkill for a summer time run in an EB. You'll pick up 3ths just by running in cooler weather.

Yea as hot as it is out I don't see this going so well. Check out the dragstrip section. One guy ran 13.2@104 bone stock with the seats pulled out in good air. Turn off traction control and I wouldn't bother break boosting above 2500rpm on the stock tires

Also, don't let it idle for awhile on the way up the line if you can. You will heat soak the intercooler badly.
