This weekend's adventure: a flight in a real vintage bird. A Klemm 35, from Germany's prolific pre-war aviation industry to be exact.
Flying it was so much fun. It's slow on the take and the controls are sloppy with a lot of deadzone around the center, but it was such a stable and confidence-inspiring machine at low altitude. Perfect for low and slow, low-bank turns around a point with the wind in your whiskers. I can understand that it inspired generations of aviators over the years. Wonderful experience.
