Hi all,

Has anyone experienced some clutch chatter for the first few starts in 1st after the car hasn't been driven for a few days. Things smooth out a few minutes into the drive and don't return if I drive the car daily.

Could it be a slight leak/contamination on my flywheel, like RMS leak? Maybe a truly cold disc stick/slip... no telling.

Ideas?

Thanks,
ken

Do you live in a humid environment?
Could be just rust on the flywheel.

It's been sitting all week due to the rain so I drive my truck during that time.

I think Jasonstang got it. Look at the rotors after sitting the car for a few days. The flywheel will look the same. If it is made from ferrous steel.

thanks everybody. Oxidation is better than having a leak. I would guess oil contamination would stick around and the chatter eventually get worse and worse.

If you had oil contamination on the clutch plate it would not be smooth when pulling out with the car. It would be jerky like grab and slip.
