Awesome video. The misaligned panel at 0:26 seconds really passed me off though.

I was at a local dealer recently, and all the mustangs there looked great. No misalignments or anything.

I'm with ya' on panel gaps, I hate seeing it too.

One thing that bothered me about the 2011 GT350 initially was, the 2-piece fascia. Every press photo released had a 2-piece fascia...

By the time I got ahold of one in 2012, Shelby went with the one-piece fascia. It looked great...

Moral of the story, preproduction cars are literally thrown together and most pieces are crudely stamped out. These preproduction Picasso's are used to gauge the final design. Changes are probably being made to the presses as we speak.

Well, here's some good news for all you 2014-2015 Camaro owners. The 2014-2015 z28 parts are now available (I think from GM Performance). Most of the exclusive z28 parts (all exterior panels) can now be bought and installed.

Maybe they didn't get their R&D money back and this will help mitigate the giant losses accumulated from the z28 project.

Lol!!! Not even from GM Performance, just New GM Parts catalog. This isn't hitting bottom, it's kinda grinding down the edge and a torturous rate of speed.

I find this amusing... whorin' it out... very classy...

It only takes $1600 dollars to make your SS look like a z28.

One good thing here, look at the price of the Z06's TR6060 from New GM Parts. $2909!!!! That is amazing!!! Outstanding price for the Z06's Tremec by far.

In my opinion, this z28 conversion kit is far more usable for only $62,000. Some two-piece, slotted rotors would have been ideal for a "Race Car" as they say. The Carbon Ceramic Brakes cause a lot of issues for owners that wanted to race.

That's pathetic that you can buy a brand new Camaro SS and turn it into a Z28 (with more interior features btw) for over $10,000 less than a real Z28. Plus then you would also have a leftover LS3, transmission, shocks, seats, etc. Makes it obvious how overpriced this thing is.

Actually this is missing the wheels and tires and probably a few other things but it's still a ripoff.

If this would class, it would be very ideal. Stock wheels and tires are garbage (or better left unused) if you are competing. There are a few other things you could leave out to help that $28,000 MSRP.

I also figure a metric sh!t ton of labor hours as well.

Still, if your building to class, this is a better option and should have been up and running day 1.

I agree though, it is kinda lame somewhat. It does diminish the z28 a little further. I think Chevy is trying to run down the z28 in general. That way there is nothing left to rape upon by the time the GT350 comes out

I must say, there is obviously a surplus of z28 parts left. That would indicate a lack of sales... The non-exclusiveness also indicates desperation for being in black. I would also go as far as saying the z28 probably cost them money to make. They probably lost money on every sale. It's the only explanation for the drop in exclusivity.

Perhaps supporting a larger and more coherent role in Motorsport? Some of that revenue could have helped drop that MSRP some.

Damn those look good but I can't help thinking they'd be that much better lowered a bit.

So while you have them can you get some good shots of how the fenders mount?

And you know how much they weigh...

I did not take these pictures. I am not employed by Ford Motor Company.

Testing Areas and Pre-Production Test Vehicles are very dangerous for untrained personnel. Testing areas are highly restricted not just to keep out prying eyes but to keep the public safe. These vehicles, especially at this point in development and in this particular area are extremely dangerous. Any outside presence, even in the parking area, could result in injury or death.

Please stay clear of testing sites.

Testing areas typically also prohibit cameras, so someone is perhaps asking for trouble...

That is not entirely true, once the vehicles are in the Parking Area or on the Road, it's open game.

Most of the people working in these areas are Mustang enthusiast and this particular person is no spring chicken by any means.

One thing to take from this is, once these vehicles reach this specific point, it's near complete.

Each one needs about 1500 miles on them. I guess all three shifts get to beat them and the brakes need burnished.

No driving in the rain...

Details released on Carbon Fiber Wheels.

18lbs

That's a couple pounds more than I figured. There are some high end AL wheels within a couple pounds of that.
