Ah yeah, I remember that thread now. His are completely custom though. I want to see if anyone has been able to just buy the switch panel and bezel from Ford and retrofit them onto a non-premium center stack.

easy task
a single press of the mode selector in the steering wheel from "normal" to "sport" will make it sing.. couple more to make it quiet.
I don't see accessing the track app and selecting the noise level difficult. with time I will be able to memorize how many clicks to do it without even looking

The steering wheel buttons control the drive mode which alters a bunch of different settings. The nice thing about the toggle switch is that it is a dedicated exhaust mode switch. It only affects the exhaust so a simple flip of the switch is all it takes. The same thing can be accomplished with the steering wheel controls but in order to ONLY change the exhaust mode, you have to scroll though some menus. (p.16 of the pdf).
It's not a deal breaker by any means but the toggle switch is better. Also cooler.

I agree 100%. If this guide is final and correct, which is a pretty good assumption at this point, then the answer is the mid way point between great and annoying.The steering wheel buttons control the drive mode which alters a bunch of different settings. The Drive mode selector on the steering wheel is easy enough, and certainly a lot easier than going into a menu and doing right / up / down clicks to navigate but still not as easy as reaching down and flipping a switch. Sort of depends on the sequence. Looks like you can go "+" and "-" on the Drive mode so hopefully the car the car will start in "Normal" and then one press + or - to get to "Sport" and then only press the opposite button to get back to "Normal / quiet".
Overall not bad but a second button on the steering wheel for just exhaust would have been awesome. Would probably use that a lot more than "Steering Effort" which no one seems to like (or at least likes to change effort) in most other cars that have that feature.
