Gear whine

I have an annoying gear whine between 45 to 75 mph on drive side and coast side of ring gear. Ford replaced with new gear and pinion with proper lash. I had them put in a new Wavetrac differential and also new housing and bearings. Drove it 1,000 miles and then took it to drag strip and now the annoying whine is back. My car is not stock but is there a remedy for this gear whine?

Do you have a Differential support?

Not sure I understand your question? Like solid differential bolts?

That will cause gear whine, so will the firmer differential bushing inserts.

Sounds like a pinion preload issue. Did they provide full setup measurements or just the backlash? This is common in the Jeep world I come from. Proper backlash and pattern are only half the equation to proper setup.

Ford tech worked on it for two months and FSE guy put hands on it with proper backlash to Ford specs also with pinion preload
