Gas hand

Just filled up the tank. Look at the gas hand and it says i have a half tank. Wtf. So I put more gas in the car thinking maybe it's not full and it spills out? I'm confused. Please help has this happened to anyone? There's a full tank in the car but the gas hand says I only have a half tank

Floater is stuck in the tank, Happened to me on older cars but never one this new, Drive around until you are sure you are slightly over the stuck point. Find a safe open place then do some nice turns like a slalom test. The Fuel sloshing around the tank always managed to un-stick it on my older cars and is a bit of fun,

If that doesn't work run it until you are nearly empty and take it to the dealer to replace it under warranty. Every car I ever owned required the fuel tank to be dropped to replace the sender.

Thanks. It eventually went back to full took about 10 to 15 min. Ford guy said pretty much the same thing u said. But he also said something like because the gas station I went to wasn't black top it was concreate that the fuel was cooler and the gas tank was hot. Idk kind of sound like bs to me but idk. Gonna fill up In the next couple of day's. Hopefully it doesn't do it again
