Maybe I'm just over thinking this but everyone talks about 93 octane but what about brand? Are tuners just using any 93 octane or do they prefer let's say shell over chevron or marathon?

My local Shell and BP gas has always performed very poorly in all of my vehicles. I use Valero almost exclusively with Sunoco being a very close second runner-up. After that, I'd pick Sam's as it's always performed very well too.

I'd love to have Chevron here again, and if we did have it, that's all I'd run even if I had to pay more for it.

Yep... All of our gas in this area comes from one of two places. The better way to select would be to get fuel in a nice part of town from somewhere with newer tanks. You don't want to worry about rust and whatnot or stations not changing their filters. You also don't want to buy from a poorer area, simply because their 93 octane sits around longer, as it isn't sold as frequently.
