Hey everyone,

I have a 2018 GT, and I had the check engine light on for a few months last year, took it into the dealership, they said it was the fuel tank sensor malfunctioning...

The tech made a big deal about how I was lucky it's still under warranty as they have to drop the fuel tank, and frame, and it's going to take 8-9 hours of work.

My car is coming out of storage this week, and I'm on the fence about doing it.

Has anyone here had it done before?

I've read it may be caused by undercoating causing it to fail, and I've undercoated every year before putting it away for the winter.

Just wondering if any techs can let me know if I should go through with it or just leave it as is. Since I undercoat every year is it worth replacing if it's just going to fail again?

I'm also worried about Ford techs pulling so much off the car to get to the sensor, will their work cause issues in the future.

My warranty ran out over the winter, so any subsequent issues caused by their work will be out of pocket.

Thanks

Nobody has had the sensor fail on their ride? Damn, I must have some bad luck...
Any mechanics on here that can offer some advice if it's worth replacing?
