Someone explain this "engine braking" to me. How is it different from a typical down shift using the motor to help slow the car?

The red key engine braking is a bit more intense than the S550GT or the S197GT engine braking though. Immediately after lifting your foot from the gas, the engine begins braking hard. It's closer to a motorbike than a typical vehicle.
