Spoke with Ford racing this morning and was told they have no interest in offering this piece again... According to them the manufacturer making them would not meet their standards and they cut ties with them for good...

So, my question is... Do any of you guys think an aftermarket company would pick this up? My deck lid has some slight damage that the dealer did when they painted my GT emblem black... They will cover the cost to have it fixed but I would prefer the cleaner look of a blank panel... Just wondering if we sparked interest if someone would start making these...

I honestly don't know how some aftermarket company hasn't jumped all over this part yet. There's carbon fiber ones out there, so obviously companies have access to accurate CAD designs that will fit like stock. The demand for these is so high, a gloss black one for a reasonable price would sell like hotcakes. If aftermarket companies can make a carbon fiber one, they can make gloss black one for a lot less.

it would all depend if Ford allows them too. Since Ford originally had the gloss black one, aftermarket companies may have to jump through hoops to make one that is similar to the gloss black one.

Since companies are making Carbon Fiber ones, it can come out "sooner" due to its not exact/similar to the Ford one.

I would buy one from the first company that releases it. I asked Steeda about it and they said they will look into it.
Someone start making these plz!

Have yours shaved and painted.
Has anyone had one done this way? Interested in seeing how It looked versus the stock one... I would think a gloss black paint would look similar but I am skeptical if it would turn out as "shiny"

I saw someone that shaved and painted body color. It was a white car and definitely looked unique. I think it's somewhere on the forum.

I don't want to say too much at this point, but I may be catering to this market in the near future. Working on production cost efficiency and prototype quality.

Again, this is an early stage and I am currently working on the project.
