Sure hope this is the right forum section.

I just ordered a set of the Frpp/ Borla Exhaust for my 2015 Mustang GT.
I want to do the install myself. It's not that I can't afford to take it some place, one of the reasons I bought the Mustang was because of all the after market mods available and I want to do it as a hobby.

I don't have a lift. I do have 4, 3 ton jack stands, 2 floor jacks, and a set of ramps.

Can you guys please weigh in on the best and safest way for me to do this install? I really don't want to put the car on 4 jack stands!

I was thinking of putting the front up on the ramps and than 2 stands in the back?
Please don't laugh ok? I also have 12 pieces of 4" x 12" x 2 foot sections of solid wood. I was thinking maybe I could jack up each side or corner or front to back and put 3 blocks of the wood stacked under each wheel for insurance.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Take your big floor jack, throw a rag in it and Jack the rear up underneath the pumpkin of the rear end. Go up high enough and slide the ramps under the rear tires and lower the car down onto the ramps. Block the front wheels. I'm a big guy and I could get up underneath to reach everything just fine. Take your time, couple hours tops. More like an hour or so. Pretty easy job.

Oh sure you can. They always seem slide around and then get uneven. You can use jackstands also. Whatever it is you feel most comfortable with is what you should do.

I'll probably be doing this method. Did you do the install by yourself? I know the stock exhaust is pretty heavy, so maybe a two man job?

I had my wife help the first time lifting it down. She was.on the front end, just made sure it didn't smash the ends. Other time, by myself. I put blocks of wood under the suitcase so when I pulled the whole thing back it just fell a few inches onto the 2x4's. Then disengaged the rear hangers.

The install is done in pieces one side at a time. An extra set of eyes when you center the tips is nice to have. Otherwise pretty easy.

KCTom,
So, what are you running on there now? I see your selling the SW H-pipe set-up. Didn't like the tone/sound/volume?

Don't sweat it man. It's a fun little project. Just be careful with the jack, ramps, stands etc., but that just goes without saying. Oh, one last thing, enjoy the new sound!

Haven't decided yet. Probably the Borla or Magnaflow. Leaning towards the performance magnaflow system. Just not happy with the performance of the SW, but that is and was a whole other thread. The SW is still on and it does sound amazing!
