Not sure with the 2016 models, but I doubt it. This was NOT possible on the MFT systems.

That's the same issue I had. I ended up getting the car without nav as no other ones were available. I was told it isn't possible to add it after the fact. I figure I'll wait for carplay/android auto and use Waze till then if I need to go somewhere.

Sync 3 is going to support Apple Carplay and Androids version by the end of the year. You'll be able to run NAV through your phone to Sync 3. Go to you tube and watch Apply Carplay in action.

I highly doubt that honestly. Ford has never confirmed how much support it will add, if any. They just never said they have decided NOT to support it.

Ford really is against Google hooking up to their system along with Toyota which is why they just signed a tech sharing deal. To use more applink and NOT auti/car play.

All they really said was they would support both if and when they did.
