Looks like Ford is really making a push for their EB engines. Not surprising to see them trying to get customers more comfortable with the EB already on Focus, Fiesta, Fusion. The harder sell will be the Mustang, but it's smart on them to get people informed/interested in it early.

DETROIT -- Ford Motor Co. will launch an ad campaign touting its EcoBoost engine brand within the next two weeks, the company said today.
"We invited non-Ford owners to experience Ford vehicles and competitive vehicles. This campaign will capture their unbiased feedback and impressions," said David Mondragon, general marketing manager for Ford and Lincoln.

"Most buyers have to sacrifice fuel economy for performance. With EcoBoost, you don't have to," he said.
The multimedia campaign, created in cooperation with Ford's Team Detroit ad agency, will take a lighthearted tone in depicting the kinds of either-or choices customers often must make, said Amy Marentic, group marketing manager for global cars.

'Rock OR Roll'
For example, she asked, "What if you could choose bed or breakfast?" An ad in Parenting magazine might read "macaroni OR cheese" or an ad in Rolling Stone magazine might ask "rock OR roll."
As with other recent campaigns, Ford will make extensive use of social media. The ads figure in a Ford push to sell vehicles in what it calls the Super Segment: mid-sized and smaller cars and crossovers. Ford's offerings in the Super Segment include the Fiesta, Focus and Fusion cars, and the C-Max Hybrid and Escape crossovers. All except the C-Max Hybrid are available with EcoBoost engines.

Rapid growth
Ford sold 334,364 EcoBoost-equipped vehicles in 2012, more than one-and-a-half times the number it sold in 2011. For the first two months of 2013, Ford has sold 96,890 EcoBoost-equipped vehicles, more than triple the year-earlier volume.

Two of Ford's biggest sellers -- the Escape and Fusion -- are offered with 1.6- and 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engines. The 2.0-liter EcoBoost replaced a six-cylinder engine in both vehicles.
Ford now offers three EcoBoost engines: 1.6- and 2.0-liter four-cylinder versions and the 3.5-liter V-6. A fourth EcoBoost engine, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder version, will arrive this year in the 2014 Fiesta. The Fiesta ST performance hatchback, being introduced soon, will get the 1.6-liter EcoBoost.

Ford will install the 3.5-liter EcoBoost in the Transit commercial van when it arrives late this year or early next year.

With the TT v6 announcement from GM last week, they better do more than an ad campaign about the current EB engine options in the super segment. No prob with them focusing on the bread and butter mainstream lineup but throw us muscle enthusiasts a bone too...

:eyebulge:Know how they get their monies worth for their ad dollars? Combine ecoboost and a teaser for the 2015 Mustang into one ad, sit back and watch it catch on like wildfire.
