Why not!!

We all know Ford can produce Mid-Engine Sport car (Ford GT), but since new Ford GT are going for $400,000.00. That left the huge gap in between since last GT gen going for $150,000.00. Should Ford come up with new name plate for a $100,000.00 to $150,000.00 Mid Engine Sport car and produce 5,000 car per year? Ford got all the major components in hand such as engine, transmission, etc..

Ford can use other engines that are not dedicated to specific car such as 5.0 CPC, 5.2 CPC, for transmission Ford can use Ford GT MT, this would cost less for R&D.

C'mom :ford: you can do it.

You can build your own for $20k or so. Factory Five 818, saw them build one the other day on TV and put a 2.0 Ecoboost in it with a Subaru transaxle. 250hp and 1800lbs

Yeah, those things are seriously cool. If I had the time, ability, and money, I'd definitely want one of those.

818 interior doesn't look OEM, but that can be fix. Factory Five working with Ford, wonder if they thinking about v6 TT2.7 mid engine, tune that baby up to 600whp with 1800 lbs. OMFG !!!! For $20k Now you got me think.

They should put the Focus RS drive train in 2 seat mid engine all wheel drive vehicle that weighs less than 3,000lbs. With a 6 speed manual trans!

The return on investment isn't there. They'd never do it

They already have a mid-engine car called the Ford GT. As they are getting rid of sedans as we speak, I would say another mid-engine Ford is basically not going to happen - and I am open to any bets over 10,000USD. PM me for details...

I agree they should do it... and call it the Pantera. I know what engine should go in there as well.

Call it Thunderbird and make the car capable of competing with the Corvette this time.

That would be an awesome option. Cayman killer. Although with mid engine it probably wouldn't need AWD. RWD would do. It would probably turn better with RWD and be less expensive and lighter as well.

Ran with a Pantera at a PCA track day in the mid-90's. It was the hit of the day!
