Ford Performance Oil Filter Adapter Kit

Have any of you considered or purchased this?

Allows you to then use the FP racing oil filters. Is this a waste of money...I'm thinking the stock filters are just fine, or am I missing something?

Ummm...that 820 filter interchanges with the FL500S anyways. No need for an adapter.

The only difference between the filters is the FL820 has a 16psi bypass, where the FL500S has an 8 psi one. FL820 has 1 GPM more maximum flow rate (13 instead of 12).

Yup, I just went with the 820 Ford Racing filter as I direct replacement for the FL500S. No adapter needed.

What is the advantage of using this kit, like does it put the filter in a better location ?

Same location. Larger filter housing, and slightly higher max flow rate.

Thanks for the replies and information...very helpful. At minimum I think I will get the filter to try but still may consider the adapter for the higher flow rate...doesn't seem like a ton of money for the extra benefit.

I've got the royal purple 820 filter in right now. It's very good quality.
