Fog Light Turns Off When Blinker is On

Whenever I turn the blinker on, the corresponding fog light is turned off. Happens for either side. After the blinker is turned off, the fog light comes back on.

Is this by design? Can anyone else confirm behavior or is this a one off?

There was another thread somewhere, but yes it's by design. I think it's to ensure the light from the fogs don't overpower the turn indicator. It's drives me a little crazy when I can see my reflection in the back of an SUV, truck, etc. But, I'm getting over it.

Yep, take a look at any higher end Audis , BMWs, and other cars with nice LED runners or DRLs. They shut off to not provide any distraction to take away from your signaling other drivers on the road. Thoughtful stuff.
