Too bad you're not in Vancouver (BC). My dealer texted me yesterday that they had a Race Red GT350 Track Pack at MSRP looking for a first owner.

even compared to the murci ( yes, i've driven one a half a dozen times), the GT350 is still special. It is a completely different experience.

I look at the RS as cool, but maybe not in the same league as a GT350. ( i also have not driven one).

from what I've heard from my friends at the track that have both, The RS is a much better autocross car. The power band is spot on for it and it is more fun.

for road course, i'm hearing that the RS gasses out at about 5500 rpm. I'm also hearing that it is about the same as the ST experience on long fast sweepers and straights. total bummer.

So at the end of the day: Autocross toy = RS

Road course toy = GT350

Super hooligan-mobile = Maybe a tie?

I hear the RS turns in much faster, is a little more nimble than the gt350, but that it is a different story when you compare an R to the RS, in that case, R wins.

I trust the opinion of who i'm getting feedback from. These are guys that also have Macs, Lambos, Spec Ferraris, GTMs, ForD GTs, GT3RSes, etc.

Does Ford have an import agreement? I know McLaren does as I've looked into buying from their Vancouver store.

I had the last year of the EVO I sold with only 800 miles on it because I thought the RS was going to be so much better that the value of my EVO would really drop. I'm to old to be driving the RS but by all accounts I think it would be a fun car to have for weekend fun. I've always had euro cars from Lamborghini (2) to Porsche GT3, GT3Rs ect The last Ford GT ect.. But Ford is coming out with some cool stuff. Have only had the 350 long enough to put 20 miles on it but it's just as fun to drive as the others... We'll not the Porsche GT3rs. That was the best of them all.

Yes, the Murci is going nowhere. It's skyrocketed just in the past 18 months since I bought it.

One issue is my good friend owns a Viper ACR so I feel a need to compete a bit with that. A fully optioned Grand Sport is definitely getting up in the 80s but if you are careful and with the supplier discount you can stay in the mid 60s and come out with a pretty decent car.

I think I need to go drive a GT350 and the RS back to back and figure out which I'd prefer. Tough decision. We are in a great time for performance cars, that's for sure.
A great time for performance cars, agreed! love lambos. Was suppose to work for them designing cars back in the 80's after college but a bad car accident sidelined that. If I only had my Enzo back. Unique and created such a buzz I think literally it created a few accidents standing still. Those v12s are awesome with a stick and a good investment. Thing I missed with the enzo. Paddleshifters are nice but stick you just feel connected to the road.

Good luck on your search. If you were closer I'd let you take the gt350 for a ride. I think the "R" is the car but I bought the base because I luck being the underdog and this car over achieves. On the track I was on a Porsche turbo lead car like glue my first day out. Give one a shot. They run good but the "R" is your best bet especially to be competitive. Good luck
