Recommendations to take in some autocross and getting into this track day thing in a more structured environment are well taken.

I hope that passing rules for the different run groups had been presented, passing being the most restricted in the novice group and progressively loosened up for intermediate and advanced.

That said, I do have to give you credit for pointing those other cars by when it was comfortable for you to do so.

It sounds like the Charger guy did the kind of thing you want to teach yourself to avoid - feeling so good about passing another car that you screw up one of the following corners because you were paying too much attention to the "feel-good" and not enough to the track ahead. Especially when the pass comes fairly late - at 100 mph that's 147 feet closer to your braking point each and every second . . .
