The fan shroud has doors in the back of it. These are designed to open and close with air flow but can also restrict airflow . Has anyone tested running and removing the doors? Cutting open fan shroud for more cooling? Maybe this is part of the cooling problems these cars have on track? We need to get air in but also out!

I'd be curious to see how much benefit there would be in removing them... I'm thinking the con of removing them (less cooling at a stop) outweighs the pro of potentially opening up more flow at speed...

I found it highly beneficial to add additional heat extraction out the hood as well as box in the radiator so air is forced to flow through it, rather than around it. With those two mods temps are under control out on track running all out with a stockish powertrain.

I don't think you want more air flow in there, unless you've got a really well vented hood, and even then you can make aero gains by restricting and directing the incoming air. There's already too much pressure under the hood with the car stock so adding more air flow is going to be bad for downforce and will not drop engine temps, only so much air can get out of there when stock. I have never had engine cooling problems on track, but Racelouvers hood vents dropped the engine temps by at least 30F. The diff is a bigger problem IMHO.
