Did you ever work out the cause? I'm having exactly the same problem with my manual 2020 GT. I turn the ignition on to access accessories or change modes, then when I press the clutch and push/hold the start button the car turns off instead. I can start the car when it's off.

No previous crash damage reported and the car otherwise operates normally.

Still did not.

I found two other people in my country who have a european accident-free mustangs and have the same problem. The solution is still unknown.

After a very long search, I found only the only person in the country who could diagnose it correct (Pawel Wiecek the owner of HD Customs form Opole, Poland, tune genius, and great guy).
As I mentioned earlier, the car was quite heavily tuned. Diff, suspension, E85, CAI, catless, etc.

It was about a problem with starting the engine when the ignition was turned on and (related issue) the inability to activate TPMS training in any way.

After resetting the car software to factory settings, everything works perfectly.

It turns out that all the problems I was struggling with, were intentionally set deep in the system and were not damage.
