Decided to go my own route when comes to an exhaust set up. I've already installed an x-pipe...removing that POS resonator took about 20lbs off the car. Anyway, decided to go with Spintech Street Pro 9000's. They're about 1/2 the weight & size of the stock set up. All total I should have about $475 in the system when all is said & done. Just can't see dropping $1100/$1200 for a bolt on system from Stainless Works & others out there. Here's a 4.6L with the same set up...sounds nasty!

Yeah, I got a GoPro Hero 3. Going to mount it to the flat spot next to the GT emblem & facing down. Should get a good representation of the exhaust note.

Got the Exhaust Tips in last night. Went with Pypes 4" Rolled Tips, at $56.92 for the pair....they were a great deal from Summit Racing. Can't wait for the mufflers to get in on Friday!

Well, got my exhaust finished yesterday...so here's the run down:

- Spintech Street Race Pro 9000 Mufflers

- Pypes 4" Rolled Tips

- X-Pipe

All total I got the exhaust done for: $528.68. Sounds really good...very deep tone. May switch later to 5" Tips to deepen it even more.

The video has some start up & rev. Then normal take off & shifting around 3-3.5K RPM. Then I do u-turn a hit it at WOT.

Here's a video to get an idea of what it sounds like:

Yes, all these exhaust kits are way overpriced. Just not worth the money. I think I am going the same route. I am going to use the lethal performance H-pipe though.

Yeah, I had a H-Pipe on my 05 GT...nice deep throaty tone. This is my first X-Pipe & it seems to be more raspy than the H-Pipe.

sounds great at idle and low rpms, but still that horrible raspy tone on WOT, what can be done to rid that damn raspyness? I hate it.

The raspy tone is from the X-pipe, install a H-pipe & it'll change the tone.

what size spintech did you use? And I assume you just cut out the factory muffler and install these in its place? What size 2.5 factory pipe? Part number? Looks like center in, offset out..

these?

These are the exact ones I bought:

http://www.spintechmufflers.com/muf...0/super-pro-street-muffler-9332/prod_129.html

They're 2.5" Center Inlet & 2.5" Offset Outlet. Better off getting them from Spintech directly...little cheaper, mine were $196 delivered.

Yep, just took them to a muffler shop & had them cut off the stockers & weld the Spintechs in. These will not directly fit, they're about 1/2 the size & weight of the stockers. Unless you can do exhaust work, will probably need a muffler shop do it.
