Electric rack - will it work without ECU in a restomod?

Hey guys, Im building a 69 Fastback with a far amount of GT350/S550 parts. I'd like to keep the parts Ford when possible, which leads me to the steering rack.

Does anyone know if the electric rack will work without the presence of the factory ECU? Im going to be running the Ford Control Pack ECU which just covers motor functions.
