Anyone see any issues with running an electric exhaust cut? I used to run these on my VWs and Volvos, they are easy to install and make a big difference since there is no restrictions on exiting air flow. I just placed a order of one.

As long as your venting down and nowhere near electrical line you should be good. I was considering adding one to my EB after hearing the GTI with one..it should be roughly the same sound as the GTI is 2.0

Yes, venting down is a must. It should be here next week, if I have time I'll post a few pics with videos. My gti sounded great and was not loud when I needed stealth mode, lol.

I'm wanted to get more sound from my Ecoboost. Wonder if this is the way to go...

I hope you guys are tuning for that cutout... Next thing you know you will open it up, go WOT and pop your motor. You are literally reducing almost all of the restrictions when you open it. The turbo will spool that much faster causing overboost and lean conditions, as the computer won't be able to control it... with the heat these engines produce and lack of cooling you are asking for trouble.

IMO I would stay away from cutouts on a turbo car.

 I ran a dump pipe on my turbo Buicks for years when at the track, and never had an issue with boost control. Only time I had any type of issue was once I stepped up to a much larger turbo. The wastegate couldn't dump enough exhaust around the turbine to keep it at the set boost target, so I would run into boost creep.

With the much faster/tighter controls of the EB, I can't see where we would run into an overboost situation unless the tune was right on the ragged edge. I would be more worried about heat soaking the stock IC/driviing up the CAT than I would overboost. The ECM will pull power if you exceed the set target....it's going to protect itself from destruction/loose nut behind the wheel...lol.

Yes, while I doubt it would create a dangerous situation with a modern ecu, keep in mind that all it takes its a quick boost spike, to cause a slightly lean mix that can result in detonation. Especially with these cars and the shitty cooling we have :first:

If the wgdc is commanded too high the ecu has no means to stop it from happening. There are tons of failsafes written into the stock tunes. My worry is with an aftermarket tune are those failsafes still in place.

It's why I always laugh at people who mod their cars and ask if they need a tune.
