About to pull the trigger on a ecoboost mustang. Ive owned a 2012 5.0 with the mt82 and it gave me no problems. The only thing that worries me on the Ecoboost is the clutch. People have been saying its weak. Any truth to this? Should I go auto? I rarely drag race, mostly highway pulls. Any opinions or knowledge would be great. Car will be a base with Recaros, PP.

I'm pretty sure both MAP and FFTec are still using the stock clutch, FFTec is making 450whp and MAP is making 420/420whp/torque.
Not sure what I am currently making, (not close to those numbers) but I haven't felt any problem/slipping from the stock clutch

WMS had to replace the clutch on their tune only EB, but they had MANY passes with that car before the stock one gave out.

Oh snap this will be an interesting thread.
I doubt it. The title should state "Ecoboost Stock Clutch Limit" though so people fully understand the question at hand.

I know the clutch doesn't have a ton of "feel" especially towards the engagement point, but unless your doing drag launch after drag launch then I wouldn't worry about it at all. Get what you will enjoy, personally I wouldn't have a mustang without a manual transmission but that's just me.

I have 10 passes on mine, stock tires, but I have been in the 1.9's for 60' when the track is good. my car made 363whp and 393 ft lbs with my current setup, not a hint of problems from the clutch yet... These cars are not easy to launch without wheel spin with stock tires. I can see where slipping the clutch to assist with traction would benefit the 1/4 mile times and that would kill the clutch

108.47 best so far with a corrected DA of over 3700 feet, full weight car scaled 3620lbs, so 3820 with me.
