DMV question

So I bought a new car and transferred my plates from my old vehicle to my new vehicle. My registration came in the mail and is not due till 2016, my plate expires July 2015. How do I get a new sticker for my plate if I don't have to get my car inspected for a whole year? Any help would be appreciated
