This has happened twice with me under certain circumstances. The first time it happened, I was driving out from an underground garage and the exit was pretty steep. Couple times I got a chance to make my turn the hill assist did not kick in and the car immediately rolled back but I hit the gas and got it to move only to get interrupted by another car. After a couple tries I got a whole bunch of errors, advance trac disabled/failure, hill assist failure, traction control disabled, launch control disabled and the car went into normal mode from my custom mode. After I got to a safe place without the danger of rolling back, I was trying to back it up in a parking spot and I got the cross traffic failure message and rear proximity sensors were not working. I shut the car off and turned it back on with all the messages still appearing. So I shut it off and opened the door to completely shut off all the systems. When I restarted after that everything went back to normal.
Second time, while I was driving (a month or so later) and the digital cluster shut off and it did not come on until I did the same, turn off the car, open the door and start it up.
Third time was a scary one as it happened on the freeway during a 6 hour drive, the dash shut off. This happened a week ago. While I was still looking for a safe exit to take and pull off the freeway, It restarted itself with the bullitt splash screen maybe after being off for 2-3 minutes. All this time the radio controls and everything else was working normally. Galpin does not have appointment available for months and I"m moving from L.A to SF so I may have to look into taking it into another dealership soon.
Has this happened with anyone else at all? Is there a firmware update or a recall that addresses the issue? My ford pass app does not show any open recalls.
