I'm taking my V6 to the local 1/8 mile track Friday. I've run it before, and when launching at about 2000 rpm, there were a couple times I had some wheel hopping. The tire pressure for that was 36 all around on the factory Goodyears.

This time I'm thinking I'd lower the pressure to about 32 and see what it does. But, should I lower the pressure on all 4 tires, or just the rears? I'm thinking the higher pressure up front would help a tad and with a V6 I need all the help I can get! Besides, my buddy is bringing his V6 Pontiac G8, and I really want to beat him...

Just lower the rears down to 32 and go from there. You can probably safely go down to 28lbs if necessary, just make sure you have a way to re-inflate prior to heading home. If you lower the pressure in the front tires it will actually create more rolling resistance. Good luck!

Air up the fronts to 40-45 psi and drop the rears to about 25 psi. Don't be afraid to do a decent burnout before staging, just don't back into the water box.
