My car is putting down over 1k whp, which i will soon be turning up to max out my 64/66's Has stock torsen diff with 3:31 gears. Or is should say had. Lol. I changed the gears myself from the stock 3:73 about 3 years ago. Been holding up well until last week. I have another complete factory iron 3:73 torsen diff. I could throw in.

Should I change to wavetrac or do 9" gforce conversion?

I'd just replace it with a new ford trac lok unit and address why the torsen broke.

Yeah, for the money the factory one holds up pretty decent. I haven't taken it apart yet to see what really broke. I can hear the pinion spinning against what sounds like a toothless ring gear. Lol Weirdly it let go in 3rd gear going up hill WOT at about 6k rpm. Engine flashed to over 8k. Lol.

If u push the car forward or back and it grabs for a rotation, it's the ring. If pushing it forward or back has no effect then it's the pinion. But that's If it's even a gearset issue. For all we know the ring gear bolts could have backed out.

Either way if a new diff is needed and it's a street car, I recommend a Trac Lok.
