Basic skills are consistently not present.

What is really disconcerting are the number of high speed poorly judged/impatient overtaking manoeuvres on (non-dual carriageway) rural roads that we are seeing again and again on these compilations.

Also, what would possess someone to attempt to door a filtering motorcycle? Shakes me head.

Was that your ebony striped beast at the end?
Sure is.

I'm certain it gets worse every month. Had a great one today myself, unfortunately I was driving dads car so no dash cam. Bloke came up along side me on the left (2 lanes) then came over onto me. No way he didn't know I was there so it was deliberate. Bloody wanker. He's damn lucky I had mum in the car.

I used Michael at Benda Installations.

http://www.bendasinstallations.com.au/

He was originally Eastern Suburbs only but the website now indicates that they do "all the Sydney metropolitan area". In any case, I took it to him (Mascot) and he did a great job in around an hour.

I was his first Mustang, but I'm sure he's done a few since.

A year later and no issues at all.

Michael even customised a plastic channel that fits between the headliner and the main unit which completely conceals the cables.

The only wiring visible on my install is a small section between the headliner and the rear camera.

Did you go with front and rear camera or front only.

I am wondering what the practical value of a rear camera is?

thanks

Front & rear (i.e. 2-channel).

Too many bullshit artists/scammers out there these days - the more protection the better.

Particularly useful if you get hit in the arse whilst parked - gives you some chance at least of capturing the plate/incident.

When I got my first dashcam ~5 years ago I got front only. Rears were uncommon at the time and I wasn't even sure the whole thing was a good idea given the cost. On the first day I had it I captured a red light runner that if I'd been 2 seconds further up the road would've T boned me.

Over the next few years it became clear that not only was the camera a good idea, it was a necessity. I haven't captured any major accidents but I've got so many close calls and stupid behaviour that I'll never have a car without one again.

When I got my new Ranger I installed a front and rear camera just 2 days after taking delivery. I would've done it sooner but it does take a little time and couldn't fit it in on a weekday. I've already got another front and rear combo sitting on the shelf waiting for the Mustang to arrive and it'll be the first mod done once again.

I'd highly recommend having both front and rear. I'm even considering finding a way to install one left and right. Just too many poor, ignorant, impatient and dangerous drivers on the road to not have one IMO.
